Thank you for using Eightpotions. Our mission is to help people create and share moodboards that inspire their daily moods and creativity.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use and protect it, your rights, and how to contact us. Eightpotions (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates under French law and is committed to transparency, user privacy, and legal compliance.

1. What we collect

We collect only the information necessary to provide the Service:

• Account information: You may create an account using either:
  • Email login: we collect your email address and use it to send you secure, time-limited login links to access your account.
  • Google Sign-In: we receive your Google name and email address (as permitted by you during sign-in).
• Profile information: bio, full name (optional), username, and external URL that you choose to add.
• User content: moodboards and related creative content (such as styled text, uploaded images, stickers, and layout choices) that you create, post, duplicate, edit, or share, including remixed moodboards.
• Visibility and sharing settings: the visibility setting you choose for a moodboard, such as Public, Unlisted, or Private.
• Social and activity data: likes, follows, shares, and similar interactions with the Service.
• Technical/service data: metadata about your content and activity on the Service (for example, filenames, timestamps, service identifiers, logs, device and browser information needed to operate the Service, and records showing whether a moodboard was duplicated from a Public or Unlisted moodboard).
• Account deletion feedback: an optional reason and explanation you may provide when deleting your account.
• Cookies: We do not use tracking cookies. We may use essential cookies strictly necessary for session management and basic functionality (for example, staying signed in). No behavioral advertising or third-party tracking cookies are used.

2. How we use your data

We use data to:

• Provide and operate the Service (including creating, storing, duplicating, editing, sharing, and displaying moodboards, including remixed moodboards).
• Authenticate accounts and manage access (for example, email-based login or third-party providers such as Google Sign-In).
• Enable social features and creative features (such as following, liking, sharing, link-based access to Unlisted moodboards, and remixing eligible moodboards).
• Maintain and use records about how original moodboards and remixed moodboards are related in order to operate the Service, enforce our Terms, investigate abuse, and respond to legal requests.
• Respond to support requests and enforce rules (for example, remove prohibited content).
• Understand why users leave and improve the Service using optional account deletion feedback.
• Comply with legal obligations and protect rights, property, and safety.

3. Visibility, access, and remixing

Moodboards on the Service may have different visibility settings:

• Public: published to the community and discoverable by everyone on the Service.
• Unlisted: accessible to anyone who has the link and intended to be shared privately with friends, collaborators, or clients.
• Private: intended to be visible only to the owner, subject to technical, legal, and security limitations.

Public and Unlisted moodboards may be eligible for duplication and editing by other users within the Service as remixes. At this time, a remixed moodboard may be displayed without showing the original creator’s username.

If you choose a Public or Unlisted setting, you should assume that people who can access that moodboard may view it, share it, and—where the product allows—duplicate and remix it within the Service.

4. Hosting and transfers

Your data and images are hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the United States. By using the Service you acknowledge that your data may be processed and stored in the U.S. We implement industry-standard safeguards (such as encryption in transit and at rest, and access controls) and, where required, will use appropriate legal tools for data transfers to protect your privacy, including, where applicable, standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.

5. Data retention and deletion

We retain your account data and content until you delete your account or until we no longer need the data for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless retention is required or permitted by law.

You can permanently delete your account while signed in by going to Settings → Account → Delete account. If you cannot access your account, contact us using the details in Section 13. Account deletion is irreversible and removes your account, profile information, and User Content from our active systems.

Existing Remixes created by other users from a Public or Unlisted moodboard, and moodboards that already use one of your Public Stickers, may remain as separate content. We remove or de-identify their association with your deleted account where reasonably possible.

Deleted data may remain temporarily in backups or caches until overwritten through our normal backup cycle. We may also retain limited information where necessary to comply with legal obligations, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

Optional account deletion feedback may be retained in aggregated or de-identified form to improve the Service.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights including:

• Access to personal data we hold about you.
• Rectification of inaccurate data.
• Deletion (erasure) of data.
• Restriction of processing.
• Data portability.
• Objection to certain processing and the right to withdraw consent where applicable.

To exercise your rights, contact us using the details in Section 13. You may also delete your account through Settings → Account.

7. Security

We store images and data securely using AWS and employ reasonable technical and organizational measures (for example, encryption in transit and access controls) to protect your information. No system is 100% secure; we monitor for suspicious activity and will notify affected users and authorities where required by law.

8. Children

The Service is for users 13 years or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we hold data for someone under 13, contact us using the contact details provided in Section 13.

9. Lawful basis and compliance

We aim to comply with applicable privacy laws (including the EU General Data Protection Regulation where relevant). We process personal data to perform our contract with you, for legitimate interests (such as running, securing, and improving the Service), and to comply with legal obligations.

Eightpotions acts as the data controller for personal data processed under this Privacy Policy. Where required, we rely on your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.

10. Third-party services

• Google Sign-In (optional): If you choose to use Google Sign-In, Google shares certain account information (such as your name and email address) with us. Google’s use of your information is governed by Google’s privacy policies.
• We do not sell personal data to third parties.

11. Copyright takedown and reporting

If you are a copyright holder and want content removed, contact us using the contact details provided in Section 13 with:

• Your contact information.
• Identification of the copyrighted work.
• Location (URL or clear identifier) of the allegedly infringing content on Eightpotions.
• A statement that you are the copyright owner or authorized representative.
• A good-faith statement that the use is not authorized.

We will respond and act promptly when appropriate.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be posted with a new effective date. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
